Abbey Markell

I am Abbey Markell, and this is Jaina, our 3-year-old St. Berdoodle.  I was born and raised in Anchorage.  About a year ago our friend Mark’s dog had surgery.  After which Mark wanted to get some of the weight his dog lost back on him.  I have always loved baking and dogs, so I decided to combine the two.  I made some special treats which  our friend really liked and, more importantly, so did his dog. 

Our friend as it happened is the owner of AK Bark, a pet boutique in Anchorage.  Mark asked me if I would like to make treats to sell in his store.  He was looking for a way to sell locally-made, fresh treats to his customers, not shelf-stable cakes and cookies shipped 

from outside Alaska. 

All my treats are baked fresh and hand-decorated, using natural and organic ingredients.  All have received the “Puppy Seal of Approval” from Jaina’s test kitchen.
